Among the green of our province there are several marvellous waterfalls.<\/p>\n

(As these are specific rock conformations, great care must be taken)<\/p>\n

\n

Ferrera waterfall<\/strong> – Situated in the municipality of Ferrera the waterfall is also known by local people as Fermona waterfall. It is located about 30 meters just below the village where the Margorabbia river flows out from the caves of the Cunardo ravine to reach the Valtravaglia valley. At the bottom of the waterfall there is a small lake of crystal-clear water which is completely surrounded by nature.<\/p>\n

How to get there: follow directions from the centre of Ferrera, walking for a short distance along the cycle path that comes from Rancio Valcuvia.<\/p>\n

Cittiglio waterfalls<\/strong> – There are 3 waterfalls in Cittiglio of which only the first can be reached from a path that starts in the old part of the village. They are formed by the St. Giulio stream and located at a height of between 324 and 474 meters in a wooded natural environment of striking beauty. Before reaching the village, the stream winds through winding lines creating sudden water jumps.<\/p>\n

How to get there: follow directions from Via Pianella in Cittiglio.<\/p>\n

Froda waterfall<\/strong> – In Nasca, a hamlet of Castelveccana, there is one of the most beautiful waterfalls of the province, hidden enough in the nature to be considered a fairy-tale place. The itinerary to get there takes about half an hour in the nature. The waterfall is almost 100 m high and collects water flowing down from Cuvignone mountain. .<\/p>\n

How to get there: passing through Veccana, turning to Nasca and following the road to S. Antonio where you will find the directions.<\/p>\n

Roggiano waterfall<\/strong> – In Roggiano Valtravaglia, just few steps after the small village, beside the road, near the wooden bridge, a small waterfall hides itself in the greenery. Slow down and take a break if you are passing through.<\/p>\n

How to get there: SS394; on the road that goes from Germignaga to Mesenzana you will find a detour for Roggiano Valtravaglia; go through the village taking the road to Brissago Valtravaglia.<\/p>\n
